I’d seen pictures of knotted heels & flatforms all over the street style blogs & runways and was in complete awe. They were so cool and fashion forward but also such a simple idea. I wanted a pair. Immediately. Unfortunately for me, my bank balance had other ideas so I went off on another DIY adventure.

You’ll need:

A pair of plain flatforms (These are from H&M)

Some fabric – Heavy weight is better

Measuring tape

Drawing pins

Needle & Thread

Measure across the straps on the flatforms and not it down then cut a strip of fabric accordingly. You’ll need 2 pieces for each pair for cut 4 pieces in total.

Place the fabric strip at one end of the flatform and pin down with the drawing pin. You can fold it over and the ends if its too long.

Pin along the length of the strip

One side done, now repeat on the other side

With both sides done, tie them up loosely

Using a needle and thread, add some stitches to keep the knot in place and clean it up a little

I also trimmed off some excess just to make it look neater

With one side done, just repeat the stages on the other foot

Before & After

I added more pins to make it extra secure. Add as many as you’d like

Et Voila! Pretty easy right?

Hope you liked it!
